Wedding - Legal Requirements for a Civil Ceremony
Bride, groom and witnesses be in Mexico at least 4 business days (excluding weekends) before the wedding.
Marriage application form must be completed and filed at the Registry Office
Four witnesses over the age of 18 years
Certified copy of birth certificates for bride and groom (Apostilled* copies)
Valid passports for bride, groom, and witnesses
Tourist cards for bride, groom, and witnesses. Tourist cards are issued at the airport upon arrival.
Health certificate and blood test (HIV, Rubella, Syphilis VDRL, blood type) for bride and groom must be taken in Los Cabos 2-3 business days prior to the wedding.*
If divorced, the final Divorce Decree must be presented (original and Apostilled* copy). At least one year must have elapsed from the date on the divorce decree.
If widowed, the Death Certificate must be presented (original and Apostilled* copy). At least one year must have elapsed from the date on the death certificate.
If bride or groom is adopted, a certified copy of the adoption papers must be presented.
Signed prenuptial agreement, which will be provided by the Justice of the Peace.
* Americans must have their documents Apostilled. Canadians must have their documents stamped
and signed by the Mexican consulate officer in Canada. An additional charge of $200 for blood tests and legal paperwork is
required for a legal ceremony. For non-Spanish speakers a translator is also required for legal ceremonies at an additional
charge of $150.

We are also pleased to offer an extensive specialty wine and champagne list at an extra charge.
